Bertha May Julius

Bertha May Julius, age 100, of Sun City, AZ, passed away at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, AZ on May 22, 2021. She had fallen ten days earlier in her apartment at Desert Winds Nursing Home in Peoria, AZ. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Bison Senior Center in Buffalo Center.

Bertha May was born on September 17, 1920 in Lincoln Township Iowa, the daughter of Tom Potter and Alta May Eikenberry-Potter. She was the last survivor of nine children.

She spent the early part of her life in Kossuth and Winnebago counties in north central Iowa. She married Alfred Edward Julius Sr. on September 17, 1937. After losing her husband of 48 years, Bertha eventually settled in the Mesa area later moving across the Valley to Sun City, AZ.

Bertha had two sons, Alfred Jr (Evelyn) and Thomas (Karen), seven surviving grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
