Arrests made following damage at acreage

Two local men face felony and misdemeanor charges after a late-night joyride caused damage to a tractor and an acreage southeast of Buffalo Center.

Josh Mathahs of Rake and Jesse Boehm of rural Buffalo Center were arrested and charged with criminal mischief in the first degree, as authorities say they intentionally caused upwards of $10,000 in damage to a John Deere A 8330 tractor owned by Darin Kruger of Wesley.

Dustin Van Gundy of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office says the incident took place in the early morning hours of December 8. Van Gundy says the suspects took Kruger’s tractor, which was parked near Grant Ostrander’s acreage southeast of Buffalo Center, and drove it through ditches and drove donuts on the acreage; causing damage to both the property and the tractor. Van Gundy says they also caused property damage while driving their own pickup trucks.
