2019 Winnebago County Fair begins Thursday

The Winnebago County Fair will feature several new attractions for 2019, as the fair takes place this Thursday through Sunday, July 18-21, at the fairgrounds in Thompson.

The Johnny Holm Band will headline Thursday’s entertainment at the fair, with a grandstand show from 7-11 p.m. The Winnebago County Fair Board will hold a fundraiser meal with steak sandwiches before the show, starting at 5 p.m.

Thursday evening will also feature the Little Miss competition at 6 p.m. and the Fair Queen coronation at 6:30, with both shows on the open stage.

4-H contest judging begins Thursday morning, and people can check out the static exhibits in the 4-H building throughout the fair. 4-H and FFA shows on the first day of the fair include the dog and cat show and the horse show. Carnival games and inflatables will be open Thursday from 5-8 p.m., and they return Friday from 5-7 p.m., Saturday from 3-7:30 p.m., and Sunday from 3-5 p.m. The commercial building will also be open with a wide variety of vendors during the fair.
