2018: A Year in Review

January:

North Iowa Betterment awarded $730 in local gift certificates to the winners of its Holiday Lights Contest. First place went to Shelby Heetland of Lakota, second place went to Rick and Brenda Hagedorn of Lakota, the Jeff Hughes family of Thompson took third place, and Frank Roth of Buffalo Center won fourth place.

Winnebago County Extension is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2018. This long-established partnership with Iowa State University provides local citizens with access to education and university research.

The Winnebago County Conservation Board has recently completed acquisition of a 40- acre expansion of a wildlife and public hunting area three and a quarter miles north of Buffalo Center along county road R20 and one mile west of the Quam Wildlife Area.
